Accessibility Statement

The Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade (MFET) is committed to making online services on the smb.gov.mt portal accessible to all. We have a national and global user base and are dedicated to continuously improving accessibility of our services.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. SMB is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.

Enforcement Procedure

The Malta Communications Authority (MCA) is the entity responsible for implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies. In case your ICT accessibility related query is not addressed or you wish to lodge a formal complaint, you can do so by contacting the MCA by filling the online complaint form. In the case of continued non-compliance the Malta Communications Authority adopts the enforcement procedure as per SUBSIDIARY LEGISLATION 418.03.
