Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/3198 of 16 December 2024 amending Decision (CFSP) 2024/254 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Guatemala

On 2 February 2024, in the context of actions undermining democracy, the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power in Guatemala, including attempts to overturn the legitimate outcome of the 2023 Guatemalan elections in violation of the country’s constitution, the rule of law and principles of democracy, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/457 which added five persons to the list of natural and legal persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures set out in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2024/254.

Decision (CFSP) 2024/254 applies until 13 January 2025. On the basis of a review of that Decision, the restrictive measures set out therein has been extended until 13 January 2026.

Decision (CFSP) 2024/254 was therefore amended accordingly,
