On 17 March 2014, the Council adopted Decision 2014/145/CFSP. Due to the seriousness of the situation, further restrictive measures are appropriate. 69 persons and 47 entities where listed for undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty should be added to the restrictive measures list in the Annex to Decision 2014/145/CFSP.
The legal acts introduce derogations allowing the release of frozen funds involving listed intermediary or issuing banks, provided the transfers are between non-listed entities and use non-listed credit institutions.
They also ensure that documents related to the enforcement of restrictive measures are protected to maintain their effectiveness and to prevent interference from external interests, thereby protecting the Union’s security and international relations.
